a trip to the apple farm

Due to the beautiful temperatures here yesterday, we headed out after Thomas' morning nap to the local apple farm.  It's only about 45 minutes from us and actually grows a lot more than apples {their strawberries in the summer are divine}!  Instead of picking apples, we rode on the little tractor/wagon thing out to the orchard and just walked up and down the rows of trees. Then we took the scenic walk back to the little market and got to see several animals {cows, sheep, goats, chickens, donkeys, llamas, pigs, etc}.  It was actually chilly outside!!  Thomas wore a sweater and jeans for the first time and he looked SO cute :)  We did end up buying some apples that had already been picked this year from the market.  It was so nice to enjoy the coolness of the coming fall and spend time together outdoors.
Getting ready to go...

Today, I made a delicious apple pie while the cool breeze blew through our open windows.  I love fall!

  1. I know I am loving this fall weather! Thomas is so precious- I miss my little man! Made cauliflower soup and morning glory muffins for dinner. Ran out of time to make bread- didn't have enough time to let it rise, but I will try the recipe soon- it looks good. Also, made some double chocolate chip cookies... fun to have a bit more energy and be able to stomach some cooking (although still not involving meat!). Well, about to take a walk in this gorgeous weather. Love you guys!
